The VV-verse
This website is meant to act as a primer and source of information regarding ChaosCroc's Victory Vixen project, typically nicknamed VV-verse. Here you will find world setting information, characters, a guide on making your own character, maps and images, a repository of canon stories, and much more.
Pitch
The VV-verse is a furry, superhero-themed multiverse. The main story focuses around Caitlin Caliburn, the titular Victory Vixen, and takes place on the planet Golus, centered largely in a country called Murcia, in the city of Key Lime Coast. There, she inspires a new generation of vigilantes, opposes the corrupt Society of Superheroes, battles with countless rogues, and must deal with more sinister threats such as Madame Mechania, leader of the MaidTrons, and Pietro, dictator of Calibre. The story follows her day-to-day life: her struggles, her victories, and even her defeats. It also follows a few other characters connected to her, whose stories all ultimately intersect with hers. Though not explicitly pornography, the story and characters may include various such elements, including but not limited to: mind control, bondage, transformations both animate and inanimate, corruption, “bad ends” (mostly non-canon artwork), and other various fetishes. This doesn't account for the hundreds of different fan-works, which cover an immense spectrum of tones.
Intended Tone
The primary tone of the VV-verse is meant to be lighthearted, veering into superhero antics and movies. This means a majority of interactions should be pretty lighthearted, fights include banter, characters are generally at least partially funny all-around, etc. Afflictions tend to be non-permanent, death is uncommon, villains don't leave trails of bodies behind them, and at the end of the day, bad guys get their comeuppance while heroes save the day. Some adult and fetish elements may be sprinkled in, but will rarely be the main focus. This is also a world where the actions of single, powerful individuals matter. Heroes, vigilantes and even villains shape the world around them, and very few could simply be replaced or removed from the story without rippling consequences. The further one strays from the above, the less likely it is to be canon or connected to the main story. This does NOT mean that the main story can't include dark elements in moderation; as with superhero media, serious, dark moments can and do happen.
Intended Scale
Though this universe features a few high-power/high-concept beings and threats, for the most part, characters tend to play on a much smaller scale, and there's an expectation for people not to create overly powerful god-like characters. Most of the action in this universe is relatively street-level, with some occasional outliers. Think Batman or Spider-Man for the usual scale of encounters. It's unusual more than a chunk of a city is threatened at once, except by underlying long-term plots.

The world of Golus
Golus, the planet, is an Earth-like world populated entirely by beings called fauna. There are no humans in this world, as it is a strictly-furry universe. Both regular animals and fauna exist, and there is no overthinking to be done about fauna eating beef or pork. It is estimated that roughly 1% of the total population possesses metapowers, marking them as metafauna rather than regular fauna. Though 40 years have passed since, the whole planet is still recovering from the Viarri War, a year-long battle during which an alien species called the viarri attempted to invade Earth, and decimated over 20% of the world's population, including a majority of its powered individuals, who attempted to fight. Though the war was won, the lossess were heavy. See the timeline page for more information.
Major Countries
Murcia
Murcia is one of the world’s largest and most financially successful countries, mirroring the North America of Earth. It is ruled by capitalism and self-interest, pushing an aggressive “Murcia First” policy that leads them to ignore most international issues and conflicts unless they become directly touched by them. Due to its laws and regulations, it is regarded as the seat of superheroes in the world, a matter exacerbated by the SOS being a global humanitarian organization.** THE SOS: (see its cast page for more information) The Society of Superheroes is a Murcian agency affiliated with the Murcian government that "privatized" the concept of superheroes. All superheroes in Murcia are registered SOS agents (and must, by law, be so). They don't strictly handle supervillains though, as the SOS' status as a humanitarian organization, earned after the Viarri War, allows it to operate in any other country, especially for disaster relief or international incidents.Murcia possesses one of the largest military presences in the world, though expectedly, the proliferation of superpowered beings like metafauna have rendered it somewhat obsolete. Since the SOS handles all “super” crimes in the country, the police is likewise fairly depowered, being there largely to handle mundane crimes, leading to tense relationships between heroes and cops.Murcia also boasts some of the greatest scientific advances of the world, owing to their greater access to viarri technology and resources since the war, as well as being the origin country of many of the world’s greatest tech firms. Though Neo Fujiko appears more advanced, and in some cases actually is, Murcia would have you reassured that any country claiming technological superiority is just putting on a show.Tensions between Murcia and other countries can be quite rough at times; the military regime of Kossagrad, for example, still isn’t over its loss of land at the hands of Murcia and Neo Fujiko, and many would note, quite accurately, that Murcia seems to be a hotbed for supervillains. This is part of the reason why Murcia regulates the use of magic, metapowers and illegal technology to the point of labeling vigilantes as criminals outright.
Murcia - Key Lime Coast
Key Lime Coast is the city where a large part of our story takes place. It is a mix of Atlantic City and Miami, a very large city often regarded as the heart of business and pleasure within Murcia. Most important companies have their headquarters in Key Lime Coast, the tourist industry is the highest in the country, and the city’s traffic is, likewise, at the top of the chart. Casinos and resorts abound on its beaches, the industrial district is loud and busy, the residential districts packed with efficient housing. Key Lime Coast is, without a doubt, the embodiment of the “Murcian Dream”.
Calibre
Calibre is another major location for the main story. A small island nation off the coast of Key Lime Coast, it echoes the Cuba of Earth. Originally a fairly withdrawn country at odds with Murcia due to its string of cruel, anti-Murcian dictators, Calibre was mostly known for its countless drug cartels and black markets. This changed recently when the current dictator, Gepito, known to possess the ability to control others like puppets using strings of energy, was suddenly and without warning replaced by the enigmatic Pietro, who until then was fairly unknown, if not inexistent for all intents and purposes.Under Pietro's rule, Calibre has gone through a major technological boom, exceeding even the best that Murcia and Neo Fujiko can produce. Population and quality of life have likewise gone exponentially up since, and yet, no one knows what Pietro even looks like, or what he truly is after. Though attempts were made to penetrate his domain, none of those who have intruded upon Calibrian soil have returned with any meaningful information, if they returned at all, leading even the SOS to consider it a no man's zone for now, as there's currently nothing to gain by risking more operatives to it.
Other Countries
While other countries exist, as they are not currently integral to the main story, they will not be detailed extensively in this document. Additional documents may be released about these countries, or they may be promoted to major countries once sufficiently fleshed out.Kemet: Magical Egypt-Wakanda. Has less technology but more magic, faith and religion.Neo/New Fujiko: Future Japan. More advanced technologically, but more controlled.Kossagrad: Military Russia. Currently under the iron-fisted rule of its military force.Tupinia: Lush, coastal forest Brazil. Massive slum communities dominate the country.Viracia: Ye Olde UK. A mix of old industrial and modern technology, recovering from turmoil.Seminole: Harsh tropical South America. Struggling with forced urbanization and invasive tourism.
Recent history of Golus
Golden Age - 1942 to 1961
- Neo Fujiko and Kossagrad start a war over Neo Fujiko’s expansionism. Murcia intervenes, Kossagrad loses a lot of territory and Murcia and Neo Fujiko enter a trade agreement.
- Rise in organized crime and in superheroes.
- Manta Ray project is created.Silver Age - 1962 to 1983
- Rise in the amount of metafauna, which results in a massive rise in the amount of superheroes and supervillains. Collateral damage at its highest, public view decreases.
- Manta Ray II creates the Society of Superheroes (S.O.S.), which successfully pushes back many supervillains but still can’t keep the public from disliking metafauna.Bronze Age - 1984 to 1998
- Metafauna reputation at an all-time low. Murcia government passes a bill that requires superheroes to register, and integrates the S.O.S. as a government entity. Vigilantes become criminals.
- The Institute is founded as a means to rehabilitate supervillains and vigilantes.Viarri War - August 1997 to August 1998
- The viarri arrive on Golus, expecting a subservient civilization that will allow them to do as they please and strip the planet of its resources for their own needs.
- Various military forces from the countries of the world attempt first contact. The Viarri War officially begins and the viarri begin crushing any opposition they meet.
- Conflicts escalate for a year. The world’s population rapidly drops. Superheroes and supervillains alike join the fight, resulting in a large amount of the world’s metafauna being killed in battle.
- Manta Ray II and Zhubao unearth critical information, allowing them to fight their way onto the viarri mothership. They kill the queen, and the ship crashes, destroying the Murcian city of Paradigm.
- The death of the queen kills every remaining viarri.
- A spawn pod from the Viarri Queen escapes notice and washes away.
- The high death toll amidst both civilians and metafauna officially ends the Bronze Age, leading into an age of recovery and mending for the entire planet. (Roughly 20% of the world’s population died.)Post-Viarri War - August 1998 to 2037
- Victims of the viarri who survived often suffer from amnesia, depression, personality disorders and more. In the case of metafauna, some even lost their powers.
- Most surviving heroes and villains go into retirement. Some villains are even offered money in exchange for their retirement, so long as they hide their identity.
- Manta Ray II retires, and Zhubao is arrested and agrees to be imprisoned.
- The S.O.S. becomes a humanitarian organization, giving them more freedom to act outside of Murcia, though their efforts remain focused there.
- The Institute gains public trust by helping victims of the war deal with their trauma.
- Public opinion of metafauna rises dramatically due to their sacrifices during the Viarri War and due to the S.O.S. 's humanitarian operations to help the world recover.
- Kossagrad’s military overthrows its last line of nobility, throwing the country into a military regime. Other countries are far too busy to intervene.
- Neo Fujiko begins research into artificial life, called “synths”.
- Countries begin advancing their technologies by studying and replicating viarri technology.Current Day - 2038 Onwards
- Most technologies now have some kind of root in viarri technology. The entire world’s technology industry was thrown forward dozens of years by studying their ideas.
- Manta Ray III debuts as a vigilante.
- Caitlin Caliburn finds the Viarri Queen’s spawn pod and becomes Victory Vixen. She is approached by the S.O.S. and declines their invitation, becoming a vigilante.
- The MaidTron project goes south as a rogue A.I. calling itself Madame Mechania takes over the production units and escapes.
- Tensions between Murcia and Calibre rise as Calibre’s current dictator, Gepito, starts changing his policies. He is eventually “succeeded” by Pietro. After a few S.O.S. ventures disappear in Calibre, Divia heads there herself. She returns a different person, quitting the S.O.S. outright.
- Victory Vixen accumulates a negative press presence due to collateral damage and pressure from the S.O.S., yet, despite this, the people, the police, and heroes start seeing her for more than just that.
[The Story Begins]
Vigilantes
Vigilantes are the backbone of the VV-verse cast, as the main story centers primarily on them. SOS Heroes
The Society of Superheroes (SOS) was founded back before the Viarri War by Manta Ray II and various other metafauna from around the world. The group’s purpose was to team up and combat against threats deemed too powerful for any single hero to handle, but it has since become an extension of the Murcian government with authority to conduct humanitarian works worldwide. It is the only approved group of metafauna allowed to use their powers to fight threats in Murcia, and generally sticks to combatting very dangerous threats, leaving common criminals to the police.

In truth, the Institute has shifted to unethical research into various drugs and techniques that can be used to alter memories, personalities and obedience, acting as the dark shadow of the SOS.

Dr. Rehme Menat
Powers: Science

The MaidTrons
Led by Madame Mechania, the MaidTrons were originally lady-like extremely advanced roombas, but have since become a fighting force looking to liberate itself from the oppression of flesh. Though not especially dangerous early on, Mechania's ability to constantly improve her technology could spell certain doom in the long term.

Making your own character
So you'd like to make your own VV-verse character? Great! Here's some general guidelines to keep in mind, and a link to a blank profile you can fill out. You don't HAVE to use the blank profile, but it provides a good baseline of the information we like to have.Rule #1: Please respect everything that’s found in this document as much as possible. For example, please respect the section on power scaling (don’t make super powerful invincible characters), the section on technological limits (true AIs don’t exist outside Mechania and Pietro, synths are from Neo Fujiko and bound by their programming), the section on the story’s tone, so on and so forth.Canon?: Please make a character for fun, not to be canon. Don’t hound the writing staff with your character in an attempt to become canon. If we like your character, we’ll get in touch.Species: Characters must be “furry”. No humans, dwarves, elves, etc. Whether robotic or organic, whether native or alien, your character must be considered “furry”. This can include fictional species, which are generally considered rare and freakish mutations of normal species (i.e. snake into gorgon, bird into phoenix, various species into chimera, etc.).Powers: In general, characters should have a clear “central theme” to their powers, excluding the default assumption of having higher than average strength/stamina/etc. “Gravity powers” “time powers” “fire powers” “ice powers” etc. No gods and divinities, please, and try to keep your characters (and factions) at or below the bar set by other canon characters. We’re not looking for our next Thanos or Darkseid, sorry.Age: Unless you know a lot about the setting, we discourage long-lived and immortal characters, since writing them will tend to require a lot of historical knowledge on the world.Origin Point: Your character cannot be from a non VV-verse universe. It can’t be “your Sonic character travelling to this universe” or “your dimension-hopping OC visiting the VV-verse”. You must either make a new character, or adapt an existing character and make a version that is from this universe originally.Aliens & Alternate Timelines/Parallel Universes: Please talk to the writing staff before making an alien species or creating an alternate timeline or parallel universe for your character to be from.Balance: The more power your character or faction has, the greater their weaknesses should be. Flaws should be readily exploitable by other characters without needing to jump through tons of hoops, and your character should ultimately be defeatable by any other character if the story calls for it. If the mere existence of your character or faction creates an automatic Bad End for every other character, or the world, rethink it.Fitting In: Your character should fit into the universe without us needing to change how the universe works to accommodate your ideas.Blank profile: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lMlz9xlwbWcVsdvYBnKvlfNj-0WYWPZYP7o9CnRmE
What are metapowers?
Were you born with the ability to create fire, shoot energy from your eyes or even turn invisible? Congratulations, you were born with metapowers, and you are officially a metafauna instead of a regular fauna. Metapowers are extremely diverse, and cover the entire spectrum of possible powers. If you can imagine it, someone out there probably has a metapower similar to what you're thinking. What differentiates magic from metapowers is that metapowers are completely, fully innate. You're either born with them, or you aren't. Another major distinction is that while someone can train in multiple types of magic, no metafauna can have two distinct powers... that we know of. Unlike magic, metapowers are highly specialized and have a much easier time reaching new peaks of power.Metapowers have been around for thousands of years, and have evolved from older, more primitive magic. As fauna became more adept at utilizing magic, their bodies evolved to be born with an innate, highly specialized magic that would eventually be known as metapowers. At least, that's the theory scholars go with. Most modern religions were built around or founded due to the exploits of ancient, powerful metafauna.Though metapowers can rarely be passed down to a child when metafauna have children, doctors have largely attributed this to coincidence. In truth, the metapower a child is born with seems arbitrary and random, but they always seem to end up shaping their life somehow. Some countries, like Murcia and Neo Fujiko, require metafauna to register with the government.
Species and beings, oh my!
Fauna: Fauna are this world's equivalent to humans. Faunakind is extremely diverse and can functionally be any animal. Reproduction disregards species, the baby will be one parent's species while having the second's features. Animal traits apply to some degree (ex: better hearing, smell, constitution, etc.).
What About Fictional Species?: Fictional species, such as a phoenix, dragon, kirin, chimera, gorgon, etc., are rare and considered mutations. Depending on culture, this can be seen as a blessing or a curse.
Metafauna: Metafauna is the official designation given to fauna with metapowers. They have a tendency to be stronger, faster and more durable.Viarri: The viarri were a race of symbiote-like aliens from a distant galaxy that invaded Golus. They view people as hosts for them to consume and take over, mutating their bodies to match their preferred forms. The battle fleet is led by the Viarri Queen. Their attack lasted almost two years, before metafauna efforts managed to bring them down, once and for all. Currently, only the Viarri Queen survives, having attached herself to Caitlin Caliburn. As of this writing, she has yet to make herself known.
Aliens: Aliens other than the viarri do exist, but they are exceptionally rare. Case-by-case considerations will be made, so please talk to the writing staff first."Gods": While this universe does not possess divine beings who can exercise power onto reality, it still possesses countless religions. In some regions, metafauna, magic-users and even technological geniuses can be mistaken for gods and gather worship and faith. Still, while people can pose as, and be mistaken for, divine entities, no such beings actually exist. Attempts to create characters or beings of this scale will be strictly refused.Machines & AIs: Since technology in this universe is more advanced, it should come as no surprise that artificial intelligences, androids, cyborgs and other robotic entities exist. For the most part, these aren’t so advanced that they match or surpass fauna yet, and artificial intelligences are purpose-built.
Synths: Unique to Neo Fujiko, synths are the closest the world has gotten to creating artificial people to date. Synths are essentially androids, but with appearances and behaviors so close to faunakind that they could trick an average person if not for visual tells they are required to have, such as robotic eyes and various joints.
Technology
Technology in the VV-verse is a few decades more advanced than our current world’s/Earth's. This is intentionally vague and the exact details vary by country. Important technologies to note are:AI: Mechania and Pietro are the only true artificial intelligences in existence at the start of the story and for a while otherwise. All other artificial intelligences are bound by rules and programming.Robots: Robots and androids exist, though they are typically primitive and purpose-built. Neo Fujiko specifically possesses the technology to create “synths”, androids much closer to faunakind overall, but even they are not true "AIs" as they are still bound by certain rules and directives.Cybernetics: Commonly available prosthetics and cybernetic limbs are very expensive and emulate without enhancing standard fauna limbs and organs. Having too many can have adverse effects on your health.Conversion: No magic or technology exists in the setting that can intentionally convert people into machines (or vice versa) without major drawbacks until much later into the story timeline.Otherwise, it should be assumed that technological geniuses (especially named characters) can achieve the same heights and feats as metapowers and magic can, with the same limits overall. Likewise, these people can achieve technologies much better than what is commonly out there.
Canon vs non-canon
The notion of “canon” exists largely to separate official, story-influencing content, from the piles of art, what-ifs and fan creations around the universe. In short: everything is to be considered non-canon unless it features in an official story or in material such as this primer. You can still talk about your ideas, get art of your creations, even write stories about them! We just ask you to understand that a non-canon entry won’t affect the official material and won’t be considered to exist within the confines of the official universe. Please do not harass the writing team about making your non-canon creations canon. This is largely being done because the writing team has stories they want to tell, so any new addition to the universe must take these stories into account, and must not disrupt the ability to tell them. For example, we can't add a new faction to the world which possesses incredible resources, high-powered individuals and disruptive technologies, without first sitting down to talk about how this new faction will affect the stories we already have in mind. This also prevents people from creating god-characters and styling all over the universe in any official capacity, among other similar potential problems. That all being said, this isn't meant to discourage people from creating their own characters, stories or art in this universe. The "canon" tag ultimately only matters for the purposes of the official storyline. Many great ideas and concepts have been the subject of stories and art and yet aren't considered canon. The goal, in the end, is to have fun with this universe, and your creations don't need to be part of the canon to be enjoyable and fun.In fact, established non-canon creations are where we tend to look when we are looking for new elements to add to the canon. Several of our characters started off non-canon, and eventually became canon through discussions and adaptations!
What is magic?
Magic is the ancestor of metapowers, and the catch-all term used to describe supernatural dealings that don't fit into the umbrella of metapowers. Not all magic is the same, and not all magic draws from the same source / power / fuel / energy / etc., but broadly speaking if it isn't a metapower it's probably considered magic.
Magic vs metapower
Metapowers evolved from magic, or so the common theory goes. Where magic is broad, must be taught/learned, and draws upon various types of fuel, metapowers are narrow, innate, and draw upon the user's body to power themselves. In other words, metapowers are a type of magic that evolved to be innately available to those born with it, and rather than draw on life, mana, reagents or otherwise, create a burden on the body instead.Magic is broad in its nature; a magic user could learn as many schools and spells as they theoretically have time to study, giving them a wide repertoire of possible solutions to any given problem. Conversely, metapowers being narrow means that one cannot deviate from the power they are born with. A metafauna with fire powers can't ever hope to develop ice powers as well, for example. This also means that metapowers can reach specialized heights that magic typically can't: a fully matured metafauna who wields fire is unlikely to be outflamed by a magic user who picked up a dozen different fireball spells. Exceptions exist, of course, as a magic user who dedicates their entire life to honing fire spells and nothing else would be functionally identical to that same metafauna with fire powers. So basically: metapowers are specialized, magic isn't and can do anything, but the price for that versatility is a much harder time reaching heights in any one field.
How to learn magic?
Magic is rarely self-taught or innate, and must usually be taught. Some people go to specialized secret schools for it, others learn it from their religion/faith. Others still learn it from a specific master, while some are lucky enough to have a magic style passed down their family. In some cases, people even acquire magic from powerful artifacts and objects, or receive it from another magic user. There are as many paths to magic as there are styles. The only restriction on learning magic is to be able to satisfy its "Cost" (see below). Not everyone is born with mana, for example, so a fauna born without mana would need to seek out a different type of magic. Likewise, not everyone is born with the mindset to learn magic, so that can be an obstacle too.
The basic magic system
Scholars have come to classify magic using three main properties:Power, representing "what" the spells can achieve.
Source, representing "where" the spells draw their power.
Cost, representing "how" the spells are created and fueled.
Examples of magic
The following example describes a potential form of geomancy:
Power: Elemental Magic (ability to wield ice, fire, earth, wind, lightning and water)
Source: Land (spells are enhanced and empowered based on where they are used)
Cost: Stamina (user becomes more and more exhausted as spells are used)The following example describes a potential form of succubus-like ice powers:
Power: Ice Magic (ability to wield, create and control ice)
Source: Lust (spells are enhanced and empowered based on the user's lust, or the opponent's)
Cost: Heat (using spells consumes heat around the user)The following example describes a potential form of corruptive divine magic:
Power: Darkness Magic (ability to wield, create and control darkness, travel through it, corrupt people, etc.)
Source: Faith (spells are enhanced and empowered based on accumulated faith, i.e. followers)
Cost: Life (user must either sacrifice life force, or the life force of others, to fuel spells)The following example describes a potential form of golemancy:
Power: Golem Magic (ability to create and control golems, and to turn others into golems)
Source: Reagents (spells are enhanced and empowered based on available reagents)
Cost: Mana (using spells costs mana)
Variants and schools
No one particular individual or organization controls magic, or even has hard leeway on its use or regulation. Though some countries, like Murcia, have tried to standardize magic just like they've tried to standardize being a hero, efforts to make a dent have ultimately fallen flat due to how many different styles and practioners of magic exist. That said, there are some typical truths to how magic operates in certain places. For example, most magic in Kemet uses faith as its "Source", while most modern variants of magic use rituals and incantations as their "Source" and mana as their "Cost". The Kossagrad royal family magic has always had ice as its "Power" and one or more emotions as its "Source".Magic users who desire power quickly and at any cost usually end up with a much more destructive "Cost" for their magic, but consequently wield greater power. Two identical mages who wield the same "Power" from the same "Source", but one uses mana as their "Cost" and the other life, are not on equal footing: the mage who must sacrifice life to use magic will have more output than the mage who only has to pay a mana cost.
Learning multiple schools
A magic user can hypothetically learn as many magic schools as they encounter in their life. The only restriction is time - mastering a single school can take decades of practice even for the most gifted of students - so it goes without saying that without a very long life, a magic user would rarely master more than one school, though they might dabble in a dozen for utility regardless.
